After escaping Inkwell Hell, she befriends two cup brothers, she is taken in by their caretaker Elder Kettle and the cups bring her on their adventures and making new friends and enemies along the way. After picking up a magical artifact she found that gives her incredible powers, she is kidnapped by the Devil and brought to the Inkwell Isles to be his wife. Gwen is an 18-year old girl from Boston, Massachusetts who dreams to be free from her parent's restriction during the Great Depression and choose her own path.
